Being a single mom is a task in itself. Learning to grab a hold of life is not as easy, as one may think. There are days when I wake up and think I have everything together and then one of my kids, throws up all over the floor. I have learned more then anything that you have to take one day at a time. Expect the unexpected and don't over think things. I have been a single mom now for 4 years. I have learned along the way, that at the end of the day I am who my kids have to look up to as a mother.
Spreading myself out between three, is tough. There are nights where they all want attention, and at the same time. My 12 year old still to this day wants me to rub his back to go to sleep. While I do that, I hear my 7 year old yelling for me to tell him goodnight, and then my sissy wants me. I get overwhelmed. I have learned though, that am only one person. When they become impatient I explain that to them. They don't want me to be a superhero and give them the world. At the end of the day they want my time. My attention and to know that I am there for them.
I have to admit I work myself to death to know they have what they need, and want. I probably over do it at times when I could take a break. I am still working through it and I am a work in progress. I'll be the first to tell you that I am not a Pinterest mom and I have probably sent my kids lunch to school with out a juice or forgot to sign some kind of paperwork.
rr Every Damn Day. So yes, I sent my son to 5th grade in a shirt that said Damn. I left work as fast as I could. Went home and grabbed another shirt. Ran to the school and explained what happened. They had not even noticed!! We all had a good laugh. at price. The following week, school starts and we are matching up outfits. Connor grabs a t shirt and some shorts. I get them all ready and get my back to school picture. I post on social media of course. I am sitting at work and I get a call from a friend of mine. He says "What does Connor's shirt say?" I was confused and said "I'm not 100% sure why?" He says "I'm pretty sure it says Swagger Every Damn day." I was horrified!! I said "NO, Its says Swagger every Game day." So i pull up the picture and look at it and could not really see what it said. I googled it on the Nike page. Sure enough It said Swagger Every Damn Day. So yes, I sent my son to 5th grade in a shirt that said Damn. I left work as fast as I could. Went home and grabbed another shirt. Ran to the school and explained what happened. Don't take yourself to seriously. Laugh as much as you can. Even when you burn dinner. Even when forgot to pack snacks. When you forgot to wash that special shirt your daughter asked you to. When you leave the laundry in the washing machine to long. Some days are harder then others but you wont get these years back.
Live Laugh and Love
